| Synopsis |
RubberSlug.com is a prototype experiment created by Advarion Inc. to gain
insight and expertise into the nuances of extremely large-scale online communities.
The mission of the experiment is to provide the general public, in this case animation cel collectors,
the ability to easily design, create, and launch a high-bandwidth, high-quality web sites with zero
training.
Thus far, the experiment has been a success. Drawing from HCI studies and providing adequate hardware,
Advarion Inc. has successfully and economically created one of the largest art gallery
portals in existence.
Close to 250 separate web sites with well over 11,000 exhibits have been created in the first 3 months of
its life. RubberSlug.com receives millions of hits per month and is highly-regarded in the
cel collection community as THE easiest, fastest, and most economical method of producing a graphics
intensive web site.
